This recipe was given to me by my sister, who got it from a lady visiting from Hungary in 1961.
Step: 1
Melt butter in a large soup pot over medium high heat. Saute onions until soft, then add beef and brown. Stir in caraway seed, marjoram, garlic and paprika. Pour water over all, lower heat to low and simmer for 2 1/2 hours.
Step: 2
Add potatoes and cook until tender, another 45 minutes to 1 hour. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.

The word “stew” can refer to 2 time a dish and a make dishes method. Stewing makes not fast cooking piece of meat, vegetables or beans in a tastefull water based . It’s same as to braising, instead it does have a few piece of differences. Stew has a reputation for making a rib-sticking eating process that comfortable you up on a freezing , winter day. It’s true ; a bowl of old menu of beef stew does have warming properties , but stew’s cozy factor more than a way beyond protecting you from the chill . It’s all about those soft and chunks of food and vegetables, swimming in a thick, ultra-rich gravy. The way they come together make the greatest comfort food, no matter the weather.
