Broccoli, Ham, and Sweet Potato Soup

There’s nothing like a hearty soup to warm you up on a chilly day! When I was a teenager, I worked at a restaurant that had a ham and broccoli soup in their “soup of the day” rotation. This is my twist on that recipe!

Step: 1

Heat oil in a large pot or Dutch oven and cook onion until starting to soften, 2 to 3 minutes. Add sweet potato and garlic; cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add water, ham, and bouillon cubes; bring to a boil. Boil for 3 to 4 minutes. Add broccoli and until it reaches your desired tenderness, 4 to 5 minutes.

Step: 2

Meanwhile, bring a large pot of unsalted water to a boil. Cook elbow macaroni in the boiling water, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, about 8 minutes. Drain pasta and add to the soup. Serve immediately.

The name of “stew” can process to both a dish and a make dishes method. Stewing involves slowly cooking chunks of meat, vegetables or beans in a tastefull water based . It’s same as to braising, instead it does have a few piece of differences. The meat is chopped into smaller pieces but of being processing menu whole , and the liquid all of it covers the contents in a stew as compared to a braise’s halfway full . When meat or raw fruit are cooked using this method, the resulting dish is called stew.

Stew has a reputation for being a rib-sticking eating process that warms you up on a freezing , winter day. It’s true ; a bowl of classic beef stew does have warming properties , but stew’s cozy factor goes way beyond preserving you from the chill . It’s all about those tender chunks of food and vegetables, swimming in a thick, ultra-rich gravy. The more they come together make the ultimate comfort food, no matter the weather.
