Five Hour Stew

Easy recipe to make. Takes no time at all and the important thing is that it’s good.

Step: 1

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).

Step: 2

Combine the cubed chuck, carrots, onions, brown sugar, wine, tapioca, tomatoes, tomato sauce in a large baking dish. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step: 3

Bake at 250 degrees F (120 degrees C) for 4 hours. Remove from oven and add stir in the potatoes, water chestnuts and mushrooms.

Step: 4

Raise oven temperature to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) for 1 more hour.

The word “stew” can refer to both a dish and a cooking method. Stewing involves not fast cooking chunks of meat, vegetables or beans in a flavorful liquid . It’s similar to braising, instead it makes have a few piece of differences. The raw animal vested is chopped into smaller pieces instead of being cooked all of it , and the water based material completely covers the contents in a stew as different to a braise’s halfway full . When meat or vegetables are cooked using this method, the resulting dish is called stew.

Stew has a perception for being a rib-sticking eating process that warms you up on a freezing , winter day. It’s right that ; a bowl of classic beef stew does have warming properties , but stew’s comfort factor goes way beyond protecting you from the chill .
