This ground turkey soup with beans is one of my favorite soups. We used to make this on snow days when I was a kid. I serve with saltines or Goldfish® crackers. It also makes a great leftover meal–always a plus!
Step: 1
Crumble turkey into a stockpot over medium-high heat. Cook and stir until evenly browned, crumbly, and no longer pink, 7 to 10 minutes. Drain and discard any excess grease.
Step: 2
Stir carrots, onion, and celery into the turkey; cook and stir until vegetables are soft, about 5 minutes. Add potatoes, tomato sauce, tomatoes, undrained peas, green beans, kidney beans, and corn. Season with pepper and seasoned salt. Stir until evenly distributed. Add thyme and bay leaf.
Step: 3
Pour water into the pot and bring to a simmer. Cover and cook, stirring regularly and adding more water as needed, until potatoes are tender, about 1 hour.

The name of “stew” can process to both a food and a cooking method. Stewing involves slowly cooking piece of meat, vegetables or beans in a flavorful liquid . It’s similar to braising, instead it makes have a few piece of differences. The raw animal vested is chopped into smaller pieces instead of being cooked whole , and the liquid completely covers the essential in a stew as different to a braise’s halfway full . When meat or raw fruit are cooked using this method, the resulting dish is called stew.
Stew has a reputation for being a rib-sticking eating process that warms you up on a cold , winter day. It’s right that ; a bowl of old menu of beef stew can make warming properties , but stew’s comfort factor goes way beyond protecting you from the cold . It’s all about those tender chunks of food and vegetables, swimming in a thick, ultra-rich gravy. The more they come together creates the greatest comfort food, no matter the weather.
