Presidential Debate Chili

A basic but tasty chili recipe that you can keep mild or season to a fire-hot! A great dinner, game day meal, or perfect when watching political debates. Add as a side rice or cornbread, Fritos® or crackers, and definitely grated cheese, and you’ll have a winner. (Blue ribbon chili cook-off winner.)

Step: 1

Crumble beef into a large pot over medium-high heat; add onion and garlic. Cook and stir beef until completely browned, 7 to 10 minutes. Drain and discard excess grease. Return pot to medium-high heat.

Step: 2

Stir diced tomatoes, beef broth, diced green chilies, chili powder, brown sugar, oregano, cumin, and salt through the beef mixture. Add beans and bring to a boil.

Step: 3

Reduce heat to medium-low, place a cover on the pot, and simmer for 1 hour.

The name of “stew” can refer to both a dish and a cooking method. Stewing involves not fast cooking chunks of meat, vegetables or beans in a flavorful water based . It’s same as to braising, but it does have a few piece of differences. The raw animal vested is chopped into smaller pieces but of being cooked all of it , and the water based material completely covers the essential in a stew as different to a braise’s halfway full . When meat or vegetables are cooked using this method, the resulting dish is called stew.

Stew has a reputation for making a rib-sticking meal that warms you up on a freezing , winter day. It’s true ; a bowl of old menu of beef stew does have warming properties , but stew’s comfort factor more than a way beyond protecting you from the chill . It’s all about those tender chunks of meat and vegetables, swimming in a thick, ultra-rich gravy. The way they come together make the greatest comfort food, no matter the weather.
