SC Frogmore Stew

Being a South Carolina girl at heart, this has and will always be one of my favorite and most comforting meals.

INGRIDIENT

Step: 1

Bring the water to a boil in a large pot. Squeeze the juice from the lemon into the water, and throw in the halves. Add onion, garlic, salt and crab boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.

Step: 2

Add the potatoes and sausage, and return to a boil. Simmer covered for 20 minutes. Break the ears of corn in half, and add them to the pot; cover, and cook for 10 more minutes. Remove from the heat, stir in the shrimp, and cover for 5 minutes. Drain off liquid before serving. It may be reserved for other uses such as soup stock.

Step: 3

Stir together the melted butter and hot sauce. Serve with the seafood and vegetables for dipping.

The name of “stew” can process to both a food and a make dishes method. Stewing involves not fast cooking piece of meat, raw fruit or beans in a tastefull water based . It’s same as to braising, but it does have a few notable differences. The meat is chopped into few of pieces but of being cooked all of it , and the water based material completely covers the contents in a stew as different to a braise’s halfway full . When meat or vegetables are cooked using this method, the resulting dish is called stew.

Stew has a perception for making a rib-sticking meal that comfortable you up on a cold , winter day. It’s right that ; a bowl of classic beef stew does have warming properties , but stew’s comfort factor goes way beyond protecting you from the cold . It’s all about those soft and chunks of food and vegetables, swimming in a thick, ultra-rich gravy. The more they come together creates the ultimate comfort food, no matter the weather.
